AI Literacy Training
Artificial intelligence (AI) is quickly changing how we work, learn, communicate, and make decisions. It’s showing up in our workplaces, schools, government organizations, nonprofits, and even in our homes. In many ways, it’s one of the most disruptive technologies of our lifetime. What an exciting time to be alive!
AI offers incredible opportunities to improve efficiency, spark creativity, automate repetitive work, and help people solve problems faster than ever before. At the same time, it’s creating real disruption in how organizations operate, how leaders make decisions, and how people prepare for the future of work.
Learning how to use AI in an ethical, responsible way is becoming a truly essential skill. People who understand how AI works, and how to use it wisely, will be better positioned to lead, adapt, and create value in the years ahead. Those who ignore it, or fear it without understanding it, may find themselves struggling to keep up in a world that is changing faster than ever.
What is AI Literacy?
AI literacy is not about learning how to code or becoming a technical expert. It’s about understanding what AI is, how it works, where it can help, and where it can create challenges and risks. It’s about developing the judgment to know when AI can improve your work, and also when human leadership, ethics, and critical thinking still matter most.
AI literacy means understanding the strengths and limitations of these technology tools. It means recognizing bias, misinformation, privacy concerns, and the very real consequences that can come from blindly trusting technology to make decisions. It means learning how to work with AI rather than fearing it or misusing it. AI is very different from previous technologies we’ve encountered during our lifetime - we must gain skills and insights so we can harness this technology for the betterment of our society.
How to gain AI Literacy?
Like any emerging skill, AI literacy starts with education, curiosity, and hands-on experience.
It begins by learning the fundamentals about AI. What is it? How does generative AI work? What can these tools actually do well, and where do they fall short?
Next steps are practical, hands-on training. That includes things like learning how to write better prompts, evaluate AI-generated content, protect sensitive information, identify ethical concerns, and apply AI tools to real-world workflows in a responsible way.
The goal of AI literacy isn’t to turn you into a computer scientist. It’s to provide you with the skills needed to navigate our rapidly changing, AI-empowered world!
Where to start?
For many organizations, the hardest part is simply knowing where to begin. AI is such a complex and expansive topic to attempt to master in a short amount of time!
The best place to start is with awareness, education, and honest conversations about both the opportunities and risks. Leaders need to understand not just what AI can do, but what responsible adoption looks like inside their teams and organizations.
At Becker Digital, we provide AI literacy training for government agencies, nonprofits, private sector businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations. We understand that every organization starts from a different place. Some teams are already experimenting with AI. Others are skeptical, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin.
Our training is designed to meet people where they are. We focus on practical applications, ethical decision-making, responsible implementation, and building the confidence needed to lead in an AI-enabled world.
