Web Designer -Part-Time/Remote

Becker Digital is currently seeking a creative and detail-oriented Web Designer (1099) to support government projects through high-quality website design, user experience optimization, and content integration that align with client missions and federal accessibility standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, update, and maintain visually engaging, user-friendly websites that meet client needs and align with Becker Digital’s brand and mission.

  • Develop responsive layouts, page templates, and digital assets optimized for performance and accessibility.

  • Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards and federal web requirements.

  • Collaborate with project managers, content specialists, and developers to implement functional and aesthetic enhancements.

  • Integrate multimedia content (images, video, graphics, and documents) and ensure cross-browser and mobile compatibility.

  • Apply UX/UI best practices to enhance navigation, readability, and user engagement.

  • Manage multiple web projects concurrently while maintaining attention to detail and quality.

  • Stay current on web design trends, technologies, and best practices, particularly within the public sector

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of professional experience in web design or front-end development (experience supporting government, nonprofit, or education clients preferred).

  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and WordPress (knowledge of JavaScript or other CMS platforms a plus).

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, or Figma).

  • Understanding of Section 508 compliance, accessibility, and usability standards.

  • Strong visual design skills and attention to user experience.

  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Compensation:

  • Negotiable rates based on experience and qualifications.

Location:

  • All work can be performed remotely but must be conducted from a U.S. location.
